The yang transforms and the yin conserves. The yang and the yin manifest as movement and rest: yang moves to its utmost, then rests; yin rests to its utmost, then moves. Therefore, yin rests within yang, and yang moves within yin; the two are inseperably interwoven. It is thus a single unit that they are one with the Dao. - Chu Xi

According to Chinese philosophy there are two basic principles, and while they sometimes oppose, they are nevertheless dependent upon each other. The two principles are yin and yang. Although yin and yang may at times be opposites, they are not hostile to each other, each has need of the other, for without one, the other could not exist, nor is one superior to the other.
The terms "yin" and "yang" first appeared in Yi Jing, The Book of Change, sometime around 1250 BC. The character 'yin' literally means "the shady side of the hill" and 'yang' means "the sunny side of the hill". These pictographs not only represent a form of opposites in polarity, but they also express transformations from one to the other, such as in seasons.
The ceaseless interplay of heaven and earth gives form to all things. The sexual union of male and female gives life to all things. This interaction of yin and yang is called Dao, the resulting creative process is called change.

Just Pure Concentrated Herbs

Currently, there is little formal standardization of herbs. The amount of herbs in one brand might not be the same as in another. As a good rule, opt for the more expensive brands. The cheaper versions may not contain an effective amount of the herb, the herb may not be high quality, or the manufacturer may be putting the herbs in the pill haphazardly so that the dosage varies from batch to batch or even from pill to pill. The more expensive the brand, the more likely it is that the manufacturer is taking steps to make the product more standardized and of higher quality. Many companies use large amounts of fillers, with only the minimum requirement of the herb. Tianshi uses no fillers - just the pure concentrated herb.
Our herbs offer as much as six times more concentration than is found in the natural plant. Every batch of our product is quality tested to meet United States Pharmacopoeial (USP) standards. The USP convention helps to ensure that consumers receive medicines of the highest possible quality by setting the standards that manufacturers must meet to sell their products in the USA. As the worlds most highly recognized and technologically advanced Pharmacopoeia, USP provides standards for more than 3,700 medicines, dietary supplements and dosage forms.

Basically, herbs work to cleanse, heal and nourish the body by building up the body's ability to cleanse itself. In a sluggish body, the lymph glands, the body's garbage disposal unit, do not function well to push out inactive refuse. Acting as diuretics, laxatives and blood purifiers, herbs help speed up the elimination of waste materials and toxins in the blood, lymph glands and intestines.
Herbal medicines work biochemically, triggering neurochemical responses in the body. They counteract the physical symptoms of disease and invigorate the body's self-healing powers. Modern research has shown that plants contain secondary enhancers or substances that eliminate side effects. When active ingredients are isolated to produce pharmaceutical drugs, the medicine becomes more potent and produces more side effects. This is why Chinese doctors opt to combine herbs into formulas instead of using single herbs to treat ailments. Particularly in the area of tonic herbs, the standard method of preparation is usually a combination, which modern scientific investigation has shown to produce certain "anti-aging" components (antioxidants, etc.). Also, Chinese herbal medicine has proven, through pharmacological and clinical studies, that when multiple ingredients are combined in one formula, to strengthen main functions and eliminate side effects.
Herbs, fruits, and vegetables are full of nutrients to nourish the blood and the tissues. There are also toning herbs or tonics that sustain the body's resistance to debilitation, aging and the stresses of modern life.
This Part Or That ; Complexities of Herbs

While Western herbalists and scientists frequently regard an herb simply as a plant species, without pinpointing the particular plant part being used, Chinese herbal medicine clearly distinguishes which part of the plant is being used, and in what state of processing it is used. Thus, simply naming the plant is of little practical value, as it could mean onw of several formulas with distinctly different properties. For example, the plant Ephedra Sinica, to most Westerners this is equivalent to the Ephedrine-drug containing Chinese Ephedra, or Ma-huang. However, that is only the above-ground part of the plant. The root of this plant represents yet another completely different herb called Ma-huang-gen that has different properties and is used for different purposes, but does not contain Ephedrine. Another example is the tonic Fo-ti, or He-shou-wu, which is now attracting increasing attention in North America. Again, the botanical name, Polygonum Multiflorum, only tells part of the story. Further identifying its tuberous root as the part used as tonic get us closer, but still does not reveal the complete overview. It turns out that even with correct identification of plant species and the part used, Fo-ti could still be either a tonic or a strong laxative, depending on whether the cured root or the raw dried root is used. The latter is much cheaper, so many herbal and nutritional supplement companies incorporate it into their tonic products. The result is a class of products intended as tonics that have laxative but no tonic effects.
According to the theory of traditional Chinese medicine, balanced nutrition lengthens life and vitalizes the body. In a fast paced society, efficient health care products will protect people from illness whereby reducing medical fees. Tianshi herbal products provide unique, efficient herbal formulas refined over centuries. Using particular parts of the herbs in combinations assures thier efficency with few side effects.
